Hydraulic presses serve as key equipment in die bending processes within metal forming industries, where piston stability directly dictates final product precision. General Background Ensuring smooth piston motion and optimal hydraulic pressure distribution is essential to prevent operational disruptions during metal shaping. Specific Background Imperfections in original piston mounting configurations frequently cause motion misalignment, fluid leakage, and severe performance drop during bending operations. Knowledge Gap Conventional structural setups lack adaptable mounting designs capable of compensating for dimensional variations when replacing worn hydraulic cylinders. Aims This study analyzes initial piston seat conditions and implements mechanical reengineering of the piston mounting to restore machine operational capacity. Results Reengineering the piston mount restored motion alignment, eliminated hydraulic leakage, and generated uniform pressure distribution across the die bending workspace. Novelty This work establishes a modular pin-locked mounting assembly specifically designed to accommodate smaller replacement hydraulic cylinders without compromising vertical press height. Implications Implementing this reengineered mounting configuration provides an accessible, reliable solution to resolve cylinder misalignment and extend overall hydraulic press service life.
Key Findings Highlights
- Dimensional discrepancies between replacement and original hydraulic cylinders cause motion misalignment and unstable pressure during metal forming.
- SolidWorks-assisted design of a pin-locked mounting base enables precise height adjustment and easy assembly without permanent welding.
- Reengineering the piston mount eliminates hydraulic fluid leakage and restores uniform pressure delivery across die bending operations.
