This article discusses the development of a barcode scanner-based attendance system implemented at SMK
Muhammadiyah 1 Kota Pasuruan. The system is designed to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of recording student
and teacher attendance using the CodeIgniter 4 framework. Key features of the system include a barcode scanning
page, an interactive dashboard for displaying attendance data, data management for absences, a QR code generator,
and a monthly attendance report that can be exported to document or PDF format. Testing results indicate that the
system effectively speeds up the attendance process and facilitates administration, providing a positive impact on
attendance management at the school. Although the system meets its primary objectives, there are areas for further
development, such as improving the user interface and adding automatic notification features.
