Abstract

The plan to build Dr. Sosodoro Bojonegoro Regional General Hospital seeks to upgrade medical facilities by utilizing a building system that is quick, effective, and meets hospital regulations. General Background Sandwich panels are being used as walls and ceilings, partly because they can be put up fast, are light, block sound, resist fire, and are hygienic enough for hospitals. Specific Background This research seeks to assess how sandwich panels are used regarding how they are put together, how fast they help finish the job, and how well they meet hospital building rules, using a review of past publications and a simple look at project plans and construction details. Knowledge Gap Previous studies lack comprehensive evaluations linking prefabricated wall installation speed to strict healthcare hygiene compliance in regional hospital construction. Aims This study aims to analyze the technical application, time efficiency, and regulatory compliance of sandwich panels in healthcare facility construction. Results The data suggests that sandwich panels can make construction faster than traditional methods and create room layouts that satisfy the technical needs of hospitals, making them a useful and economical substitute for building materials in healthcare facilities. Novelty This work establishes an integrated assessment of prefabricated sandwich panel deployment specifically tailored for non-structural wall and ceiling assemblies in Indonesian regional hospitals. Implications Deploying sandwich panel systems significantly optimizes construction schedules and maintains rigorous sanitary standards for modern medical infrastructure.

Key Findings Highlights

  • Prefabricated sandwich panels accelerate non-structural wall and ceiling assembly compared to conventional construction methods.

  • The smooth, non-porous surface properties of sandwich panels comply strictly with national healthcare regulations and hygiene standards.

  • Tight panel-joint systems successfully minimize dust and micro-organism accumulation in critical medical treatment areas.
