Abstract

The insufficiency of grinding stone and penetrating liquid availability has often been one of the causes of operational delays in the workshop division of PT. Adiprima Suraprinta. The objective of this research is to analyze and identify the factors contributing to the insufficient availability of grinding stones and penetrating liquids, as well as their impact on the operational activities of the workshop division at PT. Adiprima Suraprinta. Additionally, it aims to provide recommendations to improve the efficiency and smoothness of the operational activities in this division. The method used in this research combines the Period Order Quantity (POQ) to determine the optimal order quantity based on a specific period, and safety stock as a reserve to handle demand fluctuations and delivery uncertainties. The combination of these two methods aims to maintain a balance between inventory availability and demand, thereby improving the operational efficiency of PT. Adiprima Suraprinta. The results of the study show that the implementation of the Period Order Quantity (POQ) and safety stock methods at PT. Adiprima Suraprinta has had a positive impact. The availability of grinding stone stock increased by 16.98% and penetrating liquid stock increased by 5%, reducing stock shortages. Storage costs for grinding stones decreased by 8.83% and for penetrating liquids by 8.51% due to more efficient inventory management. The study recommends that the company continue to monitor demand and adjust the POQ and safety stock regularly to maintain operational efficiency in the future.
